PlayStation held a 40 minute presentation on September 9, 2021 that was a showcase for what would come to the PS5 and also some updates on existing titles.

The showcase started off with a cinematic video that had references to some PlayStation titles and ended with PlayStation’s slogan, Play Has No Limits.

Next, the showcase showed their first game of the presentation and the game was being developed by LucasFilm Games and Aspyr. The game turned out to be Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake and it would be remade for the PS5 and would be console exclusive at launch. Knights of the Old Republic was first released back in 2003 on Xbox and PC and is beloved by millions of players and this would be the first time KOTOR would be on PlayStation consoles as it was never released for another PlayStation consoles.

Shift Up, a Korean studio showed off their game Project Eve, which was shown off back in 2019 but we got a new look at it with gameplay captured on PS5 that looks to be like it will be a hack and slash game like Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, and others and some story moments in game while ending on an unknown character that might potentially play into the story.

Gearbox Software shared a new look at their game Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, which was shown earlier in 2021, but in this presentation, there was gameplay shown for the game and most of it looks like other Borderlands games and a small part looks like it could have some dungeon crawling aspects to it. The trailer end with a release date which is March 25, 2022.

Square Enix and Luminous Productions showed off their game Forspoken next which was first shown off earlier this year but is getting a new trailer for this presentation. This trailer had more gameplay, more story moments, and a window for the release date, going from Coming 2022 to Coming Spring 2022.

The next trailer was on Rainbow Six: Extraction, made by Ubisoft, and they showed more gameplay and story moments and this game was suppose to come out on September 16, 2021 but Ubisoft is delaying this game to January 2022 so that they can use the additional time to work on it more.

Remedy Entertainment gave us a trailer for their game, Alan Wake Remastered which will make this the first time Alan Wake is on a PlayStation console as this game was only released on Xbox 360 at first and PC less then 2 years after launch. The trailer also gave us a release date of October 5th and will be out on other systems, not just PS5.

Grand Theft Auto V by Rockstar Games got a trailer showing what was going to be different with the PS5 version like improved graphics and enhanced gameplay, seamless character switching, and more. The trailer also gave us a release window for when Grand Theft Auto V would be release which is March 2022.

Ghostwire: Tokyo got a new trailer that showed off more gameplay which display some of the actions you’ll be able to do and some enemies you’ll be fighting, and gave us a bit more on what the story will be like, but no release date revealed at the end.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy got a new trailer that showed more story moments which introduced some new characters and some more gameplay with some new actions shown off. The game is still set to come out on October 26, 2021 on PS5.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt got a new trailer that showed off some of the customization options the game will have, some factions that you might be able to join, a lot of gameplay showing how the game will look when playing, and a release window of 2021.

Deathloop got a new trailer that showed a lot of what we have seen before from the gameplay, to some of the characters we will meet, and basically how the story will play out, but giving some interesting new ideas at where the story could be going. The game was still slated for September 14, 2021 so no delays would be made with this game.

A cinematic trailer was shown next and it was for a game called Kid A Mnesia Exhibition which was presented by Radiohead and Epic Games and that it would be coming out in November. As this was a teaser trailer, nothing else is known about what this could be.

The next trailer started out with two girls sitting down with one playing a Ukulele and it was shown to be a game developed by awaceb. The trailer showed that this game would have an element from Super Mario Odyssey with the main character being able to posses an animal and take control of it as well as some elements of Breath of the Wild like gliding in the air, sailing a raft, and elements that are common in other video games. This game would be titled Tchia, which would be inspired by New Caledonia, but no release date was given for this game.

The next trailer showed Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and it would be remastered for PS5 and PC in a collection called Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection but no release date was shown off. Both games was released on PS4 with Uncharted 4 coming out in 2016 and The Lost Legacy coming out a year later.

The head of PlayStation Studios, Hermen Hulst, appeared to talk about PlayStation Studios and how some of the AAA studios around the globe that make up PlayStation Studios are driven and inspired by storytellers and that with the PlayStation 5, they can push the boundaries of storytelling even further, with some already released and some soon to be revealed.

The first of these games comes from Insomniac Games and it looked to be a Marvel game of some sort. Based on what Insomniac put out previous, the signs were there that this would be Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 but after the cinematic trailer, it was a teaser for Marvel’s Wolverine.

Gran Turismo 7 was the next game to be shown off and they showed some gameplay features like customizing your car, a photo mode, upgrading your car, and how the racing is going to be. No release date was shown but given the amount of stuff they shown, it’s likely to think this will come out in late 2021 or early 2022.

Another cinematic trailer started playing and with how it started, makes it seem like it was going to be a new inFamous game but it was actually a new Spider-Man game that will feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as well as the villain of this game, Venom. This game would be developed by Insomniac Games, the people who made the first Marvel’s Spider-Man game, it would be called Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and it was given a release window of 2023.

The last trailer to be shown off in the presentation was a new look at the sequel to the God of War game that was made by Santa Monica Studios on the PlayStation 4, now having an official title of God of War: Ragnorok. The trailer showed off some story moments in the new game and a lot of gameplay but no release date.
